Francois Michel Beausoleil

Art is not just seen — it is felt. Through layered textures, light, and emotion, each painting tells a deeper human story.

ARTIST INTRO

François Michel Beausoleil creates layered mixed-media artworks that explore humanity’s connection to the universe. Through this process, Resin, Acrylic, Oil Paint, Glitter, Gold and Silver Leaf, and Swarovski and Preciosa Crystals create depth and reflection. As a result, each artwork changes as light moves across its surface. In addition, François creates custom commissions for private residences, hospitality spaces, and corporate environments. His paintings

evolve beyond traditional surfaces — becoming dimensional experiences shaped by light and perception.

What I Do

Art as Material, Light, and Perception

Each work is a layered exploration of material, emotion, and consciousness — where painting becomes a space of depth rather than surface.

01
Material

the alternating layers of resin and paint reveal depth, echoing the complexity of human experience. It expresses a lived reality that is both deeply personal and universally shared.

02
Texture

Inspired by the idea that each particle contains the whole, I propose that every Swarovski crystal—arranged as an Indra’s Net or not—holds the essence of the entire work, perhaps even the universe. Chosen for their reflection and refraction, they symbolize the inner light within us all.

03
Light

Surfaces are built gradually, creating depth that can be physically perceived.

04
Completion

the whole is about interconnection, a vision of healing and clarity. It is an invitation to awareness—a call to see ourselves, and one another, with greater depth, compassion, and understanding.

CONCEPT (ARTISTIC FOUNDATION)

At the core of the work lies an exploration of interconnected reality.

Time, space, and identity are not separate entities — they exist simultaneously within a continuous field of perception.

Through abstraction, symbolism, and layered material expression, each piece reflects a deeper inquiry into existence itself.

The work invites the viewer to experience:

  • duality and unity
  • the relationship between matter and consciousness
  • the shifting boundaries of perception and reality

Artistic Approach

A practice grounded in material exploration, emotional depth, and conceptual clarity.

Each artwork is developed with attention to balance between texture, light, and meaning — ensuring that every piece carries both visual impact and narrative depth.

Experience

A long-term artistic practice shaped by decades of experimentation with mixed media, resin, and layered painting techniques.

Precision

Careful construction of surfaces where every layer contributes to depth, rhythm, and visual harmony.

Balance

A continuous dialogue between structure and emotion, control and spontaneity, material and meaning.

Innovation

An evolving approach that pushes the boundaries of traditional painting into dimensional, light-reactive forms.

ARTISTIC REFLECTION

Art is a reflection of inner perception, where thoughts, emotions, and memory merge into visual language. Through painting, invisible experiences are transformed into texture, light, and form, allowing each work to carry a deeper sense of meaning beyond its surface.

The artistic practice is driven by imagination, emotional awareness, and a continuous exploration of abstract expression. Each composition evolves through an intuitive process where symbolism, balance, and depth play an essential role in shaping the final outcome.

A strong sensitivity to light, structure, and material behavior allows the work to develop organically. Mixed media techniques are used not as tools of decoration, but as a means of building dimensional surfaces that respond to perception and environment.

At its core, the work communicates silently. It does not rely on explanation or language, but instead creates an emotional and visual dialogue with the viewer — where meaning is experienced rather than described.

Artistic Inquiries

My work is inspired by the relationship between emotion, memory, and perception. I explore how inner experiences can be translated into material form through texture, light, and symbolism.

I work primarily with resin, acrylic, and oil paint, building alternating layers
to create a rich sense of depth and dimensionality. I incorporate glitter,
Swarovski crystals, pearls, gold leaf, and semi-precious stones, allowing
each piece to engage dynamically with light.

Yes. Each artwork is an original, one-of-a-kind piece created by hand. No two works are ever identical, as each one evolves through its own creative process.

I have developed an extensive body of commissioned work over many years, available through a concept-driven approach. Each project is realized through close collaboration, ensuring the final piece aligns with a clear, meaningful, and highly personal vision.

My work has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs across the United States and internationally, including exhibitions in California, New York, and Basel, Switzerland.
